Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and BuySalex ("BuySalex", "we", "us"). They apply whenever you visit buysalex.com, create an account, post an ad, send a message or buy any of our paid features. Please read them properly. If you do not agree with them, do not use the site.

1. What BuySalex is, and what it is not

BuySalex is an online classifieds platform. Sellers post ads, buyers find them, and the two sides contact each other directly. We provide the space, the tools and the safety checks.

We are not the seller of the items listed, and we are not a party to the deal between buyer and seller. We do not own, inspect, store or deliver the goods, and we do not guarantee that an item is genuine, legal, as described or still available. The only exception is the optional buyer protection feature described in section 8, where we hold a payment until the buyer confirms the item.

For users in India, we act as an intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it.

2. Who can use BuySalex

  • You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract under the law that applies to you.
  • One person may hold one personal account. Businesses and dealers can register as dealers and must give accurate business details.
  • If we have suspended or banned you before, you may not open a new account without our written permission.

3. Your account

You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. Use a strong password, switch on two-factor authentication if it is offered, and never share login codes. Tell us at [email protected] straight away if you think someone else has accessed your account.

The details you give us, including your name, phone number and email address, must be true and kept up to date. We may ask you to verify your phone number, email or identity before you can post, chat or receive payments. We may also limit an account until verification is complete.

4. Posting ads

When you post an ad, you confirm that:

  • you own the item or have the right to sell it, and it is in your possession or you can lawfully get it;
  • the title, description, price, photos and location are accurate and describe the actual item;
  • the ad is in the correct category and is not a duplicate of an ad you already have running;
  • the item is not on our list of prohibited items.

Ads may go live immediately after automatic checks, or after a short manual review. Either way, we can review an ad at any time. We may reject, hide, edit the category of, or remove an ad that breaks these terms or our Posting Rules, and we may limit how many ads a free account can keep active at one time.

Ads expire after a set period. You can renew, edit, mark as sold or delete your ads from your dashboard.

5. Contacting other users

Chat and contact features are there so buyers and sellers can agree a deal. Do not use them to:

  • send spam, chain messages or bulk promotions;
  • harass, threaten or abuse anyone;
  • ask for advance payments, OTPs, UPI PINs, card details or passwords;
  • send payment links, QR codes or "verification" requests designed to take money;
  • move the conversation elsewhere to avoid our safety checks for the purpose of fraud.

We scan messages automatically for well-known scam patterns and may warn users, delay messages or block accounts. You can block or report any user from the chat screen.

6. Paid features and wallet

Some features cost money: featured placement, bumping an ad to the top, extra ad slots, dealer plans, contact unlocks and contact plans. The price, the duration and the tax are shown before you pay. Current prices are listed on our Fees & Paid Features page and can change, but a change never affects something you have already paid for.

You can add money to your BuySalex wallet through our payment partners. Wallet balance can be used only for services on BuySalex. It is not a bank account, does not earn interest and cannot be transferred to another user. Promotional credit has no cash value.

Payments are processed by third-party payment providers. We do not see or store your full card number or UPI PIN.

Refunds are covered by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

A paid feature increases visibility. It does not guarantee a sale, a certain number of views or replies.

7. Meeting and paying

Most deals on BuySalex are completed in person. Meet in a busy public place, check the item before paying and keep proof of payment. Read our Safety Tips before you meet anyone.

Any payment you make directly to another user is your own arrangement with that user. If something goes wrong, we will help where we can, for example by sharing information with the police when the law allows it, but we cannot reverse a payment made outside BuySalex.

8. Buyer protection (where available)

In some categories and countries, a buyer can pay through BuySalex instead of paying the seller directly. The money is held until the buyer confirms receipt or the confirmation window ends. If the buyer raises a dispute in that window, we review the evidence from both sides and decide whether to release the payment to the seller or return it to the buyer. Our decision on a held payment is final as far as BuySalex is concerned, but it does not stop either party from taking the matter further under the law.

9. Reviews and ratings

Reviews must be honest and based on a real interaction. You may not review yourself, pay for reviews, or post a review in exchange for a discount. We may remove reviews that are fake, abusive, or contain personal information.

10. Content you upload

You keep ownership of the photos and text you post. By posting them, you allow BuySalex to host, copy, resize, translate, display and distribute that content on our website, apps, emails and social media, and in search engines and partner listings, for as long as the ad is live and for a reasonable time afterwards for backups, legal records and fraud prevention. This permission is worldwide and free of charge.

You must have the right to everything you upload. Do not use photos taken from other websites or listings. If you think content on BuySalex infringes your copyright or trademark, follow our Copyright & Trademark Policy.

11. Things you must not do

Besides the rules above, you must not:

  • break any law, or help someone else break it;
  • impersonate another person or business;
  • scrape, copy or harvest ads or user data with bots, or use the site in a way that puts unusual load on it;
  • try to get around a suspension, a limit or a security control;
  • upload viruses or harmful code, or probe the site for vulnerabilities without permission;
  • use BuySalex to collect phone numbers or emails for marketing.

12. Suspension and termination

We may warn you, limit features, remove content, suspend or close your account if we reasonably believe you have broken these terms, the law, or put other users at risk. Where it is safe and lawful to do so, we will tell you why. You can appeal a decision from the notice you receive or through our support page.

You can close your account at any time from Dashboard → Account & privacy. Closing your account removes your ads and profile. Some records, such as invoices and payment history, are kept for the period the law requires.

13. Disclaimers

We work hard to keep BuySalex available and safe, but we provide the service "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that the site will always be online, free of errors or free of harmful users. We are not responsible for what users say, post or do, or for the quality, safety or legality of items listed.

14. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, BuySalex and its directors, staff and partners are not liable for:

  • any loss arising from a deal, meeting or payment between users;
  • indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data or loss of business opportunity;
  • events outside our reasonable control, such as network failures, power cuts, natural disasters or actions of authorities.

Where we are found liable, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid BuySalex in the six months before the event that caused the claim. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

15. Indemnity

If you break these terms or the law and someone makes a claim against BuySalex because of it, you agree to cover the reasonable costs, damages and legal fees that result.

16. Complaints and grievances

For help with your account or an ad, contact support. For a formal complaint, including complaints about content on the site, write to our Grievance Officer, Grievance Officer, at [email protected], or use our grievance form. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days. More detail is in our Grievance Redressal Policy.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when our services or the law change. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email or with a notice on the site before it takes effect. If you keep using BuySalex after that date, the new terms apply.

18. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in the city where our registered office is located have jurisdiction over any dispute, unless the consumer protection law of the country you live in gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts.
